Mission & Objectives


The Emory Center for New Medicines (CNM) is an integrated, one-stop infrastructure, programming, and collaboration model housed at Emory to accelerate transforming discoveries into new therapeutics that will impact patients around the world.

Mission:

  • Harness and translate biological insights from Emory investigators into the next generation of life-saving therapeutics
  • Train the next generation of therapeutic discovery scientists
  • Foster a therapeutic innovation ecosystem at Emory

Objectives:

  • Channel fundamental biological discoveries into a therapeutic pipeline
  • Enable investigators to increase the number of de-risked Emory assets (novel agents, repurposed drugs, high value intellectual property/IP, etc.)
  • Enrich the pipeline of drug discovery and development at Emory

To achieve these objectives, the center provides the dedicated effort, innovative technology and infrastructure, and programmatic support needed to mobilize and enable discovery scientists towards therapeutic innovation, thus enhancing their likelihood of success and increasing the impact of Emory in the drug discovery and development space.
